A CCTV system is a set of cameras, a recorder and a network that captures and retains video of a site so incidents can be reviewed afterwards. ITVEDA designs and installs IP camera systems using Hikvision, Dahua and CP Plus hardware, sized around the coverage you need, the retention period you must keep and the bandwidth your site has. Installation includes cabling, PoE switching, recorder configuration, mobile and desktop viewing, and an AMC that keeps cameras clean, aimed and recording.

How many CCTV cameras does an office need?
Coverage is driven by positions, not floor area: every entrance and exit, the reception, each corridor junction, the server room, the stores and any cash-handling point. A typical single-floor office of 3,000 to 5,000 sq ft lands between eight and sixteen cameras once those positions are counted.
How long can CCTV footage be stored?
Retention depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate and disk capacity. Thirty days is the usual target and is achievable for most small installations with 4 to 8 TB of storage; we calculate the exact figure for your camera schedule before quoting the recorder.
Can we view the cameras on a mobile phone?
Yes, from the manufacturer app on iOS and Android and from any desktop browser. We configure access through the vendor cloud relay or a VPN rather than by port-forwarding the recorder, because an internet-exposed NVR is one of the most commonly attacked devices on a business network.
Do IP cameras need a separate power supply?
No. PoE cameras take power and data over the same Cat6 cable from a PoE switch or the recorder, which is why we cable rather than use wireless cameras for anything permanent.
Is CCTV maintenance really necessary?
Yes, and it is the step most often skipped. Lenses collect dust and spiders, mounts drift, drives fail silently and firmware falls behind. A CCTV AMC exists so that the first time you check the footage is not the first time anyone noticed a camera stopped recording six weeks ago.
